License Manager error "There was a problem with your request, please try again later."

$

We removed a system and I deleted it's HP Matrix OE for Integrity license.  Now when I try to manage licenses I get the message "There was a problem with your request, please try again later."  I also noticed that now I show Demo (seats and time) Free Trial licenses for all my remaining systems.  Is the problem these Demo licenses?  If so can I get ride of them?  It is a 90 day license.  Once the 90 days expire will it revert to my permanent license or will my Matrix OE believe it's license has expired and stop working?  That would be really bad.

Thanks for any ideas you might have.

HP SIM 7.2 + IRSA 5.8

Hi all!

I have following configuration:

CMS on VMWare virtual machine with windows 2008

HP SIM 7.2

IRSA 5.8

c7000+c3000 enclosures

with bl460c G8 inside

integrated and standalone brocade SAN switches

I have configured OA modules and blades ILOs to communicate with CMS via SNMP. When i send test alert from OA and iLO, i can see it in SIM and it is delivered to isee-amc.austin.hp.com/console.

But when i'm trying to create incident to log a service case, i have no success.

I was trying to pull out power cable from c7000, pull out power supply and fan with no success.

I can see event on HP SIM, but not on isee.

In Remote Support Configuration and Services->Insight Remote Support Service (Connectivity) Status  i can see that monitoring for my enclosures is green.

How can i check, that case will be created? Isn't it enough, that power supply was removed from enclosure?

HP SIM 7.3 not receiving snmp trap test

Hi,

We have a Windows 2008 R2 HP Sim 7.3.0 server which is not receiving snmp trap tests from a Windows 2008 R2 standard server running HP System Manamgement homepage v7.3.2.1

If i restart this server is see some messages in HP Sim, but when i disconnect one power supply i don't receive any messages. In the eventviewer i can see that the test trap has been sent.

If i restart the server i see cold start messages and linkup messages from this server in HP Sim so it look likes the communication between both servers is ok but i am still wondering why i don't see the test trap messages or the power cable disconnect.

What is wrong? Thanks for your help.

HP-SIM 7.3->7.4 Upgrade installation fails with SQL Server error

$

Have an existing HP-SIM 7.3 installation running with the SQL Express 2008 that came with it on Windows 2012 on a BL460c Gen8 blade.

I started the upgrade to 7.4; the installer detected my SQL Express 2008 installation as described in step 5 on page 53 of the 7.4 Installation and Configuration Guide.  The installer asked me the password, told me it would upgrade the existing database to SQL Server 2012 Express SP1, which ran for a short while and failed with the error:

SQL Server 2012 Express SP1 installation failed with the exit code: -2067919940

I am unable to find any reference to this error code.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Problem with discovering some ESXi 5.1 hosts with HP SIM 7.3

Hi,

I have few ESXi 5.1 hosts which I'm not able to discover with HP SIM. As I can remember, they were installed from HP ESXi ISO. It seems that HP SIM is not able to connect via WBEM:/ But sign in credentials are correct... Can anyone help me?

********* Significant issues and overall target discovery/identification
          status:
Major:    The system cannot be identified properly for HP SIM to manage;
unable to get one or more of the following: model, serial number or
unique identifier (UUID). For management processors, verify the
system is running the latest firmware. For Linux based operating
systems, you must have dmidecode installed, enable the
PermitRootLogin and PasswordAuthentication in sshd, and use root
sign-in credential. For HP-UX, verify the sign-in credential. For
Windows, check if WMIMapper is configured correctly on the CMS and
          verify the sign-in credential.
Normal:   Identification status is only available for servers, workstations,
or desktops, where monitoring is enabled.

********* Additional results (listed for information only):

        * Starting identification process...
        * Checking for known running web servers...

Minor:    The Central Management System (CMS) cannot communicate with the
CIMOM locally installed on the managed system using the WBEM
protocol, Identification will try to identify Windows systems using
the WMI Mapper as proxy; for Linux and HP-UX systems, check
          credentials by going to Options->Security->Credentials->System

Upgrade to HP SIM 7.4 question

Hi,

I wanted to upgrade to HP SIM 7.4 not so long time ago, but noticed that Installation and Configuration Guide says that SQL 2008 is not supported at all:/ Is that true??? Because Quick Specs says that such SQL servers are supported:/ I think that it is a little drastic to leave only SQL 2012 support in HP SIM 7.4. Does anyone have HP SIM 7.4 on SQL 2008 Sp3?

The error message is:

The HP SIM Central Management Server may not be on the managed system(s)' SNMP trap destination list, so no events will be received from the system(s).

I test the comunication with snmpwalk in the client and in HP SIM Server. The communication is good.

Software installed in linux server:

VCRM shows all Service Packs for Proliant as "invalid"

Hey all,

I have got the following problem with a fresh installed VCRM 7.4 on a new virtual machine.

After the installation I just wanted to fill the catalog by choosing the "Update from HP" option. After the process it has found several components and 2 Service Packs - but the Service Packs are shown as "invalid".

After that I manually copied 2 more Service Packs into the Repository folder and made a catalog rebuild.

Now the VCRM shows all 4 Service Packs but all as "invalid". See the attached screenshot.

What can I do???

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards

Problems with HP SIM 7.3 and iLo agentless monitoring

Hi,

I noticed this problem not so long time ago when I updated my SIM to 7.3 version and when enabled agentless monitoring in ilo settings (Proliant DL 380p Gen8). After I did this I constantly get the following messages right after I enable agentless monitoring and configure traps destination:

Event Name: (SNMP) Health Status Array Change occurred (11020)

URL:

Event originator: ged1-esx

Event Severity: Informational

Event received: 20-Oct-2014, 08:49:25

Event description: A change in the cpqHoMibHealthStatusArray has occurred.

How can I fix this? Thanks.

HP SIM upgrade to 7.4 errors

Hello,
I've upgraded HP SIM 7.3.0 to 7.4 version. The HotFix 7.3.1 I decided to do not install and use 7.4 version.
I use an Oracle DB installed on another server.

The upgrade process finished successfully but when I started to work with the new version I observed the next malfunctions:

1. Some previous settings were overwritten and set to default, e.g: I disabled (SNMP) Accelerator Board Battery Failed (3040) event and (SNMP) Health Status Array Change occurred (11020). Now these traps are enabled.

2. Predefined, user defined collections for systems and events are not filtered correctly, e.g: predefined "Major Systems", "Critical systems",... or my ITAC defined collection, all show me all the systems, or "Old Noisy Events", "Important Events"... or my "Events newer than 30 days" defined collection, all show me all the events.

Thanks in advance and kind regards.

Offline firmware upgrade via iLO without using SPP, is it possible?

Hello,

Does anyone know whether HPSIM can perform offline firmware upgrade without using SPP?

I know HPSIM can perform offline SPP deployment via Gen8 iLO device.

However, I would like to perform offline upgrade specific version of firmware, not entire SPP.

I created a custom software baseline in VCRM, but it does not show me "offline" upgrade option.

Please advise if you know how to solve this problem.

Hi,

As you all may know HP SIM has a handy WBEM Health Inclusion status option in Tools and Links Tab. I had this link on all of my monitored ESXi servers as I excluded not connected nics through there. But now several ESXi servers simply do not show this link:( What could cause this? Thanks.

When i install HP SIM .bin file on Proliant DL380p G8 it show errors:

error: Failed dependencies:
ld-linux.so.2 is needed by cpqsrhmo-7.2.0-0.i386
libc.so.6 is needed by cpqsrhmo-7.2.0-0.i386

libm.so.6 is needed by cpqsrhmo-7.2.0-0.i386
libpthread.so.0 is needed by cpqsrhmo-7.2.0-0.i386

I think package will be cpqsrhmo-7.2.0-0.x86_64 instead of cpqsrhmo-7.2.0-0.i386

How can i resolve it ?

VCRM 7.4.0.0 - Invalid Support Pack

$

I've seen a few HP posts out there already such as

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ITRC-HP-Systems-Insight-Manager/Invalid-Support-Packs-in-Version-Control-Repository/td-p/4544049#.VFfFkbjnaM8

and

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ITRC-HP-Systems-Insight-Manager/Missing-two-items-from-latest-HP-Service-Pack/m-p/6408792/thread-id/58424/highlight/true#.VFf6f7jnaM9

but I'm not seeing how to determine what pieces are missing.  I've checked the recommendations in this one:

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ITRC-HP-Systems-Insight-Manager/VCRM-invalid-support-pack/td-p/4481623#.VFfFlbjnaM8

and those files don't seem to be listed/applicable in my particular case.

I have tried clearing everything out, re-uploading the support pack of HP_Service_Pack_for_ProLiant_2014.09.0_792934_001_spp_2014.09.0-SPP2014090.2014_0827.10.iso

After that is uploaded, I'll notice that it'll be flagged as an invalid support pack.

After the updates run overnight, I'll have 2 support packs listed as invalid:

HP Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2013.09.0c (English (US), Japanese) *
HP Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2014.09.0 (English (US), Japanese, Chinese (Simplified)) *

and 2 listed as ok:

HP Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2014.06.0 (English (US), Japanese, Chinese (Simplified)) *
HP Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2014.02.0B (English (US), Japanese, Chinese (Simplified)) *

Additionally, I'll see about a dozen errors about digital signatures

Failed to get digital signature from component cp022760.exe (just different files listed).

I can mark them as trusted if necessary, just seems that out of the gate that they aren't happy with the files.

VCRM is v7.4.0.0, which appears to be the latest.  Not sure if that is glitchy or if something else is amiss.  Don't recall haivng issues on such a clean build on previous deployments.  I've cleared out all the files and rebuilt catalog a few times and let it go through the upload process, just to make sure nothing was odd with that, but same results (insanity I supposed...doing same thing, expecting different results).

Any guidance (or pointing me to an existing article I may have overlooked) would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Time Mismatch

Hello Everyone,

SIM server is hosted in united Kingdom. Whenever end users tries to check the alerts on the console across the globe, it picks up their relevant time according to the timezone. If we login to intranet & access the APP it shows the correct timings. Is there anyway we can stablize the mismatch. I looked around but couldn't find anything. I know the SIM version is 6.2 which is pretty old & we are planning to deploy a new setup which will be 7.3 atleast. Appreciate if someone can help meanwhile.

Thanks !!!

Hello.

I like to upgrade to v7.4 from v7.3

We have migrated the database from SQL 2008 (remote) to SQL 2012 Expres SP1 (local) DB.

Running mxgetdbinfo results in no errors.

Anyway, when I try to install v7.4 wie HP SIM Setup, I get following error message:

Unbenannt.JPG

HP SIM is installed in Windows 2008 R2 Server with local SQL 2012 Express SP1 DB.

Any ideas? Could this be a permission problem?

Hello,

I'm trying to connect my VCA's to my VCRM by using the certificate option. Due to I'm not an real expert with certificates it's not working. If I choose the certificate option it says that it can't find the VCRM. If I use the login option with user and password it works.

Anyone can provide me a step by step guide to use the certificate option or has got a link to a good one? I wasn't able to find any...

Thanks!

HPSIM + VCRM + VCA very slow in navigating through web interface.

Hi,

I have just installed HPSIM 7.3.0, VCA 7.3.0.0, VCRM 7.3.0.0 and HP System Management Homepage 7.3.3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64bit) and whilst navigating through the web interface its painfully slow.

Spec - Server is running on Vsphere 5.5

RAM - 2gb + additional 8gb page file

2x singe core CPUs

I am monitoring around 150 systems

I have read through lots of posts in the HP forum and nothing seems to improve the performance.

I checked my mxdomainmgr.log file and it states the following:
