Hello All, I have received an HP Support Alert for the HPE Version Control Repository Manager (ver 7.6.0.0) which I would like to download and install - however, the URL in the alert appears to be broken (Takes me to a 404 error page) and the search facilities on the HP Support Pages are not very good... they seem to only return hits for much older versions of the VCRM and I cannot find anything to do with 7.6.0.0. I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction please.... thank you... VCA/VCRM "The specified repository is invalid or not reachable"
This keeps popping up. Getting error "The specified repository is invalid or not reachable" when trying to connect to or VCRM.
In the past, the fix was to make sure the version of VCA is up to date. And in one instance, we had to run these commands on the VCRM server:

It is now not working again. I've updated VRCM to the latest verion 7.6.0.
One thing I can't seem to find anything newer for VCA other than ver. 7.3.5 which is pretty old.
Is HP moving away from VCA/VCRM to firmware updates?

hp sim monitoring issue
MY HP SIM is running on linux server,it is not able to collect data from client server.client server is oracle enterprise linux 5.9. someone suggested that my client server does not have agentless monitoring package installed in it.
what packages needto be installed on my server, server harsdware is hp proliant DL380P.
error:
Event description: The Data Collection task could not find any data to collect. The target system may not have been running any supported instrumentation protocol, such as SNMP, WBEM or DMI.
but my client is running snmp but i am only getting ping fail alerts.

SIM 7.6 issue
I orgionally posted this in the General Section, but came across this form specifically for SIM....
New to SIM a bit, but am running into an issue and it's been driving me nuts. Here is what I have for my SIM server: Windows 2008 R2 OS, Running SIM 7.6. SQL 2012 running on the same system. Everything was going well. Created a Automatic Event Handling task, was able to get SIM to email me with no issue, but if I go in and try to "Edit" the task this is where I run into the issue.
At the "Select Name" I can hit Next, no issue, if I just hit "Next" at the Select Events, and don't change anything I'll get "You are not authorized to access this page" and hitting Next does nothing.
Now let's say I change the Select Event collection from "Severity is Critical" to just hit the "Use this event collection" and pick "All Events", I can then hit "Next" which will take me to "Select Systems".
The task I was modifing, the system was identified in the "Select Systems". So let's say I want to simply add another system. If at the "Select Systems" the "use system attributes that I will specify" is selected and I hit "next" to add another, I'll again get the "You are not authorized to access this page".
So it seems like I have to make a total change of selections in order to move onto the next item. I've tried logging in as me (Domain admin) as SIM Service account. Tried making those change directly on the SIM machine running IE 9, and event tried it via my workstations running Google Chrome. I doesn't matter who I am logged in as, or what version of web browser I am using, I get the same behavior..

MIB import failes after update to SIM 7.6
Hello Does anybody see this error after updating SIM to 6.7. It seems a MIB is faulty and can't be imported:

Removing nodes from hpsim - including the associated ones
Hello Forum !
Question: How can i delete by a command a node including his associations? Is there some automatic way besides writing down the associated ones too ?
i found mxnode -r -x force but it's removing the node without the assosiated nodes
some command you are familiar with?

HP SIM 7.6 installation
Hi,
I tried to upgrade my hp sim to version 7.6, but for some reason the install blow up. I tried reinstalling but it was saying that I need to remove before installing it again, this message is at the Select Installation type. When I go and try to run the uninstall, I get a message that I need to run the program from start menu -> programs -> HPE insight management. If I run this uninstall, it sits there for ever.
Is there a way to uninstall or force a reinstall. I think I'm stock between the upgrade process.

Monitoring SSD drives for VSAN with SIM
On the DL360 G8 and DL560, we are using for VSAN. I ran this command "hpssacli controller slot=0 modify hbamode=on forced" it works well. Only issue we are having is SIM not alerting on drive failures or removal. I simulated these failures, even though we get the vCenter alerts not SIM. Is it due to forcing it to use HBAmode?
The VSAN cluster we have is working as expected. Is there ideas on how we can configure SIM to alert on the drives? I can see the drives in the iLO under the storage view.

HP System Management Homepage won't open
Hi Guys. After searching the web and without luck I came here to see if someone can point me in the right direction.
I've installed the latest version of HP System Management Homepage version 7.6.0.11 for Windows x64 on Windows 2008 SP2 (non R2).
As usually I've installed it over the previous version, but I also tried it removing the previous version. Also I've installed the Latest HPE Insight Management Agents for Windows Server, 10.60.0.0.
The problem is the same always, the site won't load at all.
If looks like as if the server component isn't running. My SNMP Service its configure correctly and also has been restarted.

Dear all,
An internal assessement recommend us to upgrade the HP System Management Homepage of a DL380 G8 server (OS Windows 2008R2. The version of the System Management Homepage is 7.1.2.3.)
Where can I find the procedure? What should be prepared before the upgrade.

HP SIM - forward DNS lookups after initial discovery?
It seems like HP SIM only performs forward DNS lookups for the initial discovery of an iLO? It doesn't appear to perform forward DNS lookups after a system has been discovered to check for IP address changes.
Running HP SIM 7.5 with latest hotfix on Windows 2012 R2.
I have successfully discovered an iLO using its DNS name using HP-SIM. (actually I made an entry in the hosts file on the HP SIM server).
If I then change the hosts entry for the iLO name to point at a different IP addresss, HP SIM does not seem to pick up the change.
I am choosing "Quick Launch -> Identify Systems..." while viewing the entry for my iLO in my attempt to have HP SIM pick up the change.
A Wireshark capture shows HP SIM still communicating with the old IP address and not with the new IP.
Is this expected behavior? I would expect HP SIM to re-resolve the DNS name of my iLO when I kick off an "Identify Systems..." task.

iLO4 SNMPv3 access - Read Only ?
I am using SNMPv3 to monitor my iLO 4 cards in HP SIM and it is working pretty good for me. I'm thinking about sharing the SNMPv3 credentials with another internal group so they can also query my iLO4 cards.
Can SNMPv3 credentials be used to make changes to the iLO or are they Read Only?

HP SIM 7.5(7.5.1) and MS SQL 2008 R2 SP2/SP3 compatibility
Hi All,
Does anybody have good experience with using HP SIM 7.5 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2/SP3 ?
Currenly we are considering upgrading from HP SIM 7.3 Update 4 to HP SIM 7.5 but unfortunately at the moment do not have license to migrate existing database to at least Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
As stated in the "HP Insight Management 7.5 Support Matrix" document Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP4 is supported with the folowing annotation:
"Installation using Microsoft SQL 2008 SP4 returns an unsupported database warning, which must be ignored for the installation to complete successfully."
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 compatibility.
For the sake of completeness we use HP Proliant server and Windows 2008 R2 SP1 as CMS platform.
Any help would be appreciated.

HP SIM Upgrade from 7.5.1 to 7.6 doesn't look like its worked
So i've run through the upgrade process. But in the process i never saw it do the actual SIM application, all it did was the other addons like management homepage etc, and it found the old SQL database.
After it says the ugrade is complete, when i go to help - about in SIM i get the following info. I'm assuming the build version should now 7.6?
